Settings
Every org, workspace and team has its own settings. Your own settings, and your company's, are at the bottom of the left menu.
Settings of a place
Each org, workspace and team page has a Settings button. It opens that place's settings, with tabs. Admins and Managers of the place open it.

Your settings
Click Settings at the bottom of the left menu (or Settings in your account menu).
| Tab | What is there |
|---|---|
| Profile | Your name and email, your org and company, and your role in each. |
| AI assistants | Connect Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and others, and remove them. An assistant sees and does exactly what you can. See Connect an AI assistant. |
| Connections | Your own logins to the org's tools. Only the tools your org turned on are listed. |
| Security | Sign me out after: pick a shorter login length for yourself. Never longer than your org allows. |
| My usage | What you did and what it cost. See Usage. |
| Company | Only for the company's Admins and Managers. See below. |
Company
Company Admins and Managers see the Company tab:
- General: the company's name. Company Admins rename it.
- Security and Permissions: the same settings as an org has, for every org in the company. Company Admins change them; company Managers see them.
- Orgs: the orgs in the company.
- Who runs the company: its Admins and Managers. Company Admins add people from the org they are in, change their company role, or take it away. The company always keeps at least one Admin.
How settings pass down
A setting can be set at more than one level: the company, the org, a workspace, a team.
- Follow. A level that sets nothing uses the value from the level above. If nobody set it, SeamTrail's default applies.
- Set. A level picks its own value. The levels below follow it, but they may pick their own.
- Enforce. A level picks a value and ticks Enforce. The levels below cannot change it.
Under each setting, one line tells you where its value comes from:
| The line says | It means |
|---|---|
| SeamTrail's default. | Nobody set it. |
| Follows the company. (or the org, the workspace) | A level above set it. You may pick your own here. |
| Set here. | This level picked it. |
| Set here, and enforced for the levels below. | This level picked it and locked it. |
| Enforced by the company. It cannot be changed here. | A level above locked it. |
To go back to the value from above, click Follow the level above again.
Only Admins of a level change its settings. Every change is in the audit log.
The settings
| Setting | Choices | Where you can set it |
|---|---|---|
| Login length | 1 day, 7 days, 14 days (default), 30 days | Company, org, and each person for themselves |
| Who can bring people in | Admins and Managers (default), or Admins only | Company, org, workspace, team |
| Who can create workspaces | Org Admins and Managers (default), or org Admins only | Company, org |
| Who can create teams | Workspace Admins and Managers (default), or workspace Admins only | Company, org, workspace |
| Who can create features | Everyone in the workspace (default), its Admins and Managers, or its Admins only | Company, org, workspace |
Login length
Login length is how long you stay signed in before you must sign in again.
- The shortest choice applies. If the company says 7 days and the org says 14 days, people are signed out after 7 days.
- A person can pick a shorter time for themselves, never a longer one.
- When an Admin makes it shorter, people who signed in longer ago than the new time are signed out the next time they use SeamTrail.
Who can bring people in
"Bring in" means inviting someone by email, or adding someone who is already in the org.
- Admins and Managers: Managers bring people in as User or Manager.
- Admins only: Managers cannot invite or add people. They still see who is there.
When a setting stops you from doing something, SeamTrail hides the button and tells you why.
Tools
The org decides which tools its people use. Open the org's Settings → Tools. Org Admins and Managers use this screen.
- Every tool has a switch. All tools start on.
- Only the tools that are on are visible to the people in the org: when they link something to a feature, pick where a team's work lives, or connect their own login.
- Connect a tool that is on. This is the org's connection. See Integrations.
- Turning a tool off hides it for new links and new connections. What is already linked keeps working, and SeamTrail keeps reading it.
- Turning it on again brings it back everywhere. Nothing has to be connected again.
- Every switch is in the audit log, for example "turned Slack off for the org".
Your own logins are in your own Settings → Connections.
Moved
The Connections page is gone from the left menu. The org's tools, the deploy webhook and the deploy rules are now in the org's Settings → Tools. Your own logins are in your Settings → Connections.
