The SeamTrail agent

Ask questions in plain words. The agent answers from the feature's memory and your tools, and can make changes after you confirm.

The SeamTrail agent is the chat inside SeamTrail. Click Ask AI at the bottom right to open it.

Ask in plain words, for example:

  • "What's blocked?"
  • "What did we decide, and why?"
  • "What changed this week?"
  • "Which features are ready to deploy?"

What it reads

  • The feature's memory: decisions, blockers, risks, questions and status. See Memory.
  • Live reads of your tools, like a Jira ticket or a Slack channel. These run as you, on your own login. So the agent never shows you more than your tools would.
  • Open drift and what is not settled.

It knows today's date and your time zone (from your browser). So "yesterday" means your yesterday.

When it uses a memory, it can show the source as a short link. Ask for sources and it lists them.

Pick what you are asking about

Under the chat box, About shows what your question is about:

  • This stage
  • This feature
  • All features

It starts with the screen you are on. You can change it.

You have one conversation with the agent. It stays with you as you move around SeamTrail. To start over, open the โ‹ฏ menu and click Clear conversation.

It asks when something is unclear

If your request could mean two things, the agent asks first. Its questions come with buttons. Click one, or pick Something else and type your answer.

It can make changes, after you confirm

When you ask for a change, the agent shows a plan card. Nothing happens until you click Confirm.

Mark a memory as no longer trueSeamTrail

After a change, the agent reads it back to check it worked. Each change can be undone.

Changes are offered when you ask about a stage or a feature, not "All features".

Changes in Jira

  • They run as you, on your own Atlassian login. Jira's own permissions decide what you can do.
  • To move a ticket, the agent walks your Jira workflow one step at a time, to the status you asked for.
  • If you name a status your Jira does not have, the agent asks which one you mean. It never guesses.
  • No Atlassian login yet? The agent asks you to connect it in your own Settings โ†’ Connections.

Your team's words

Teams use their own words, like "on dev" or "shipped". When the agent asks what a word means, it can remember your answer for the whole org. It asks once, then uses it.

It learns how you like answers

Rate an answer with ๐Ÿ‘ or ๐Ÿ‘Ž. The agent learns how you like answers, never what is true.

To see what it learned, open the โ‹ฏ menu and click What I've learned about you. Remove anything you don't want. It won't learn that again.

It tells you news once

If someone replaced or contradicted your decision, the agent tells you once, under "For you". See Memory.
